Coronavirus halts Crito teaching

The Crito Project’s Board of Trustees had an unscheduled board meeting today, at which they made the decision to cease all teaching in prisons for the foreseeable future, due to the coronavirus epidemic. While we were loathe to cease teaching, and to disappoint our 20 students who are currently enrolled on our Time Meaning Utopia module, we have no choice in taking this step.

As soon as it is physically safe to recommence, Crito Project will restart its teaching programme at HMP Wayland. Until that time we will work on ways to support our students and the prison population at large by providing texts, podcasts and videos for them to study and enjoy. Who knows when things will return to some semblance of normality; when it does, expect to hear more from us as we look to build on the superb work that has been done this academic year by our teaching team, our partners at UEA and People Plus and, most of all, our students.
